Yankee Candle Christmas Eve - Review
Hey guys!

I know we are halfway into dry January already, so some posts on Christmas fragrances would not be considered avantgarde BUT, since sales are still on, this is the post for you if...one of the following:
1) You are such a big Christmas fans that your favourite summer hit is Jingle Bells.
2) You are quite the control freak organised and the perfect moment for buying Christmas candles is 11 months in advance (you never know...).
3) Your life's motto is “if a Yankee Candle is on sale, I must buy it” and on sales time your browser history is just a never ending list of online retailers and you know on top of your head the opening times of all the closest stores.
If one of the above is the right answer to your Friday quiz, then keep reading.
The candle I would like to review today (finally...) is Christmas Eve.

I have tried it in the medium jar candle size (411g and 65-90 hours) and the official description is:
"Traditional holiday scents of a warm hearth, sugared plums, and candied fruits.
Top notes: Orange, Almond, Lime, and Lemon.
Mid notes: Red Berry, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg.
Base notes: Violet, Amber, Creamy Praline, and Vanilla"
Included in the "festive" category, is a no-doubt Christmassy fragrance (whether the name and the Santa Claus plus reindeer label weren't good enough clues...).
Directly from the jar you can feel a sugary fragrance, mixing with a fruity scent, both combined with a spicy undertone. To be honest, I couldn't really recognise the citrus fruits supposed to be in the top notes, because the fruity I felt was more of some red berries or something more juicy and sweet (maybe precisely the idea of sugared plum mentioned in the description - but still not sold to the candied fruits, I haven't felt them...).
Despite this sugary first impact, this fragrance cannot be included among the "super sweet" ones (which can end up being even revolting if the sweet scents are not your cup of tea) - like Macaron Treats or Spiced White Cocoa. In fact, the sugar's sweetness is toned down by the fruity and spicy notes, creating a fragrance that can fill the air without weighting it down.
Spices make this scent traditionally perfect for Christmas, even if they are less intrusive than other instances (like Christmas Memories or Sparkling Cinnamon).
Definitely one of the main candles for my Christmas. I have burnt it also for long hours, lending the air a cosy and warmer flavour. This is the perfect candle for a lazy afternoon on the couch, with maybe a hot chocolate and the snow outside, enjoying that atmosphere of warmth and intimacy that we all like so much during the holidays.
Hoping that my opinion may be useful, let me know if you have tried this fragrance (and in what size), if you enjoyed it or if it turned you in the Grinch!
Cheers
Francesca
